1990s Garden works
Prints, paintings, paper pulp paintings, mixed media works.
Images from this period represent a time of intensive gardening and garden building in a small private landscape. Like the plants in the garden, the prints came in small groups or as unique specimens. I was reacting as well to the previous years' larger editions: more experimentation, smaller editions and unique prints proved more sustainable.
As the garden expanded – literally into an adjacent park - I became, predictably, involved in issues concerning our common spaces. This led to the public art / environmental projects from 1996 onward.
